I just finished removing my air tube silencer, the long skinny black plastic tube that hangs off the bottom of the rubber elbo that goes into the TB. I let my car run for a little while and got no SES light, so no problem there. I was wondering if anyone else has done this and is there any power to be gained from doing this mod? I am going cruzin' tonight and will post what I have gained or loss from doing this. Any other info would be helpful. If anyone is interested in doing this mod it is very easy to do, just post your e-mail addy and I'll mail you the directions on how to do it.

No, I am not running it open cause that would just be stupid. I went ghetto to block it off, I used a cap off some brake cleaner. It fits perfect and looks ok except it is bright blue. The only thing I noticed from doing this is that my K&N filter on my FIPK whistles a little more but that is it. But I think I am done with the modding of my car now since I'm trying to sell it.

Yeah, you will notice more air noise now. That air silencer does it's job pretty well, huh? Just make damned sure that no air can get in around it. That will be "unmetered" air that the MAF hasn't read and the engine will not run correctly. Poor mpg, crappy idling, crappy bogs, etc, etc.
