Ok folks! I need a little help here. I have spent the last few days getting nowhere trying to find a CD changer for my 99 that has the UL0 Monsoon head. I found info that indicated the Alpine 6 disc would work with an adapter cable. When I checked on this Alpine says that works only on 95 to 98. Won't work on 99 and the cable they were making for the 99's was dropped after they found out GM made some type of protocal change btwn the 98's and 99's. Next on the list is Kenwood 10 disc. Found it but so far finding the adapter cable is a "MI" experience. Supposedly PIE makes it. One guy said he hasn't seen one in over a year. Contacted Rockford Fosgate and they say their's won't unless I find someone who makes, of course, the adapter. They thought maybe Metro but weren't sure. If I wanted to spend btwn $551 and $661 I could get the factory 6 disc or the 12 disc. That isn't happening. This is to be my birthday present from my wife. I saw a post on LS1.com that someone had found the factory unit for $360. That I can live with. Sent him an email asking where he found it and haven't gotten an answer. Guess it's a secret.

Can any one help? Please!?

Thanks much!

Try www.radiosandmore.com (http://www.radiosandmore.com) click on general motors and then put in your car. The part number on the one I got is 12495743

I got a 12 disk for my 99 T/A that works with stock monsoon system and steering wheel controls.

Good luck.

Gearhead, I've got a stock 12 disc CD changer for sale. I had it in my car for about a year or so before I took it out. I upgraded the rest of my system so I don't have use for it anymore.
It's perfectly fine, never skipped on me once and would work fine if you have the tape deck head unit in your car.
E-mail me or just post here for details or offer me a price.

Hey folks, thanks for the feedback. I did some more research and found out that the Alpine 6 disc M-bus series will work. Peripheral makes the adapter required, it is the GMALP (95-00) 0110 GM to Alpine CD Interface. I installed it today at Ralph's and it works great!

Thanks again for the info!

Mike
