What do you guys think about indexing your plugs w/nos (5177 kit)? Would you still suggest directing the electrode toward the center of the combustion chamber & slightly toward the exhuast valve with nos? It seems to me it would help with a better, more efficient burn. That's just a little more safety there to me. All suggestions & comments greatly appreciated.

Yup it's worth it if you got the time and the patience to do it.... With all those washers it's pretty time consuming. Just mark the plug all the way down with where the open part of the electrode is and you should be golden. It's easier to do with the heads off and just install the plugs prior to the heads going on..... But if you must and you have time go ahead. It can't hurt and it's said to be worth a few hp...

I think it would create more of an effecient burn. I've read Hot Rod enough that they have mentioned that it could be worth as much as 2 HP. Not really worried about 2 HP but rather more interested in the better burn when it comes to nitrous.

So would an MSD box and a Nology Coil...... And some better wires.... I'll talk to my engine builder and find out how much indexing helps out. He's into that flame front travel theory and stuff like that....

I agree with you on all counts Outlaw. I'm simply quoting Hot Rod mag from past issues that I have read. Would I know if indexing plugs would give you a little more HP.......... NO... I would never waste my money dynoing before and after with just indexing plugs. But Hod Rod would do such a test, and I can't remember which issue, but I do remember them conducting that sort of before and after test.

Oh I agree also. Plug indexiing is worth some HP but as far as how much for the difficulty factor is under question.... If you do it with the heads on is it worth spending 3 hours for 2 hp???? I think not. I'd rather just screw the bastards in and press on.... Now if the heads are off, by all means take the time and do it...
