Default OK lt 1 experts,...inside

OK guys,

My buddy AL picked up a LT1 and is trying to get the most out of it before he blows it up.

He has PMed a few of you borrowing my screen name until his gets resolved.

Thanks in advance for those helping him and giving some advice.


Let's talk about what can be done to get a stock 93 to 13.00 or 12.98.
Wet kit and no converter, stock gears.

Well that explains the name Al in the pm I got.. haha.. I was like WTF I thought hallz was named Mike??

You can get that car down to that without nitrous.....

cold air intake, 52mm throttle body (not really mandatory), shorty headers, mandrel bent y-pipe, 3" catback from anybody with no cat(s).....

put a tune on the PCM for some added timing and power. if you're against gears make sure it doesn't have the 2.73's like some auto 93's had IIRC.... it won't do shit with 2.73's..... put some sticky tires on it with some 3.73's and even better a 3200 stall converter.... it'll go bottom 13's probably all day. no spray. put spray on it and you'll have most likely a high 11 second car.

Std. mods proven time and time again.
Get more air in and out (intake& exaust), keep it in the power band (converter or manual trans. w/ gears) and make it hook.

If all else fails and you grab some tools and start cutting weight

BTW, I think a good converter is one of the best $-$ mods for any auto.

It even makes the 4gen fbodies fun "around town"....lol

Hey guys this is AL using Mikes account. Mine still aint been authorized.
Got most of my parts from summit last monday. Started tearin it apart yesterday. Man,,, what a pain these cars are to work on. Thise exhaust manifolds took half a day to pull off. I couldnt even get the drivers side flange apart after removing the 3 bolts. I had to sawzall the pipe just under the o2 bung. The rest intake,cam,water pump, opti were all pretty easy.
Gonna have to wait ill next weekend to put back together. Forgot to order a couple gaskets and the timing chain and they wont be here for a few days.
So heres what i got so far
pace setter long tubes with y pipe
cc503 cam
58 mm throttle body
2800 stall converter
150 shot
msd wires
gonna either buy some gears or wait for one of you fellas to upgrade and just buy yer stock one. So anybody thats got one in good shape with 342 thru 373 let me know.
